Baby Steps...

I’m on day 2 of Turbo Fire for the next 90 days of my life. All workouts have been scheduled in my Cozi calendar so that I know what I’m doing each morning. I prefer to do my workouts first thing in the morning so that I know they will get done. I have an alarm that goes off on my phone each morning with Chalene Johnson talking about how people who are able to maintain their weight loss work out first thing. It’s a little motivational trick I use to wake myself up…

So I was thinking…we have to do things in baby steps in order to accomplish any goals – right?! So I need to focus my thoughts on doing that with my weight loss journey too. In the past I’ve just been looking at the big picture and I think that is what messes me up and I get frustrated because I don’t lose what I want by a certain date. Five pounds at a time is what I’m striving for…and I’m going to do it! As Under Armour would say “I WILL”!

I also need to start drinking Shakeology on a daily basis. I’m going to alternate drinking it for each meal – so one day I’ll have it with breakfast, the next for lunch and then dinner. Hopefully this will also contribute to losing the pounds and toning up. I need me some muscle action!

I tore it up at the gym last night – hadn’t been in a long while. Probably since December some time. My cardio has definitely suffered since my foot injury. I started P90X2 January 1st and there isn’t a lot of cardio in that so I felt like I needed to go back to cardio. Which is why I went back to doing Turbo Fire and I’m having a great time. I look forward to waking up and working out now…NO MORE EXCUSES ;)

Executive Decision Had To Be Made

I know I've truly found my soul-mate workout....I'm going back to TURBO! I just had an AMAZING workout thanks to Mrs. Chalene Johnson.

I also for the first time in a VERY long time worked out without my heart rate monitor. It felt kind of liberating BUT I know I need to know how many calories I burn. Otherwise its just a guessing game ;)

I have my bag packed for a lunchtime workout so I need to plan for that.

Update: It's 2:30p and I came back from my lunchtime workout...it felt GRRRREAT! I did Tone It Up's Bikini Body Bootycamp - its my fav.

Nightly Ritual

Since watching the TIU girls talk about psyllium husks I have made it a regular routine to drink it. I'm now able to drink it with the new Almond Breeze Almond Milk Coconut Milk blend. It's AMAZING! The best of both worlds.

Go get you some...

Made To Crave (Day 4)

I don't know if you've read Made to Crave but this little bit of it describes me sooo much. I'm a work in progress ;)

I'm in LOVE!

Look what has finally made an appearance at my local HEB. I just had my first glass and all I can say is YUMS ;)

With only 45 calories per cup for the unsweetened version...you can't go wrong!

It's like a tropical fiesta in your mouth. AND my first cup included psyllium husks and again....it was YUMS!

It's time for NO MORE EXCUSES...

The last day of the holidays officially is over for me...my daughter's birthday was last week! Yay! And I mean that in a good way...she's 9 now and I can finally not have all this bad food in my face.

So, I'm getting serious folks. I should be losing weight...not gaining it. This week I will do double workouts 3 times a week along with my regular P90X2 schedule. P90X2 will continue to be done first thing in the morning. Then at lunch I will go to the company gym and do a quick 30 minute workout. I really can not stand the way I look right now.

So wish me luck folks. We all know I need help with my eating!

Oh and I've started a bible study called Made to Crave. If you have done it let me know your thoughts on it.

It's a NEW YEAR!

2012

It's 2012 people and what are your goals for the year?! I used to call it "resolutions" but we all know that we never keep our "resolutions" for the year. It's probably because we never think of it as a real goal, but a want. I know I've never really treated a resolution like a goal. I never sat down with pen and paper and wrote down my steps to achieve my resolution. BUT now I know that to achieve a goal you must break it down into smaller steps...this will help you to achieve whatever your little heart desires.

One of my goals for this year is to weigh 130 lbs and/or get my body fat down to 21%. Currently I weigh 159 lbs. and have a body fat of 33%. I know, I know...not good at all. I have no issues with working out...it comes easy to me because I love the way I feel when I exercise. HOWEVER, I do have a love/hate relationship with food and I guess it wouldn't be so  bad, but the food I desire are the ones that aren't so good for you.

I'm currently reading an awesome book by an awesome lady. It's PUSH: 30 Days to Turbocharged Habits, a Bangin' Body, and the Life You Deserve! by Chalene Johnson. If you haven't bought your own copy, do it NOW! This is a step-by-step "diet" book that shows you how to not only achieve the body you want, but the life you want.

I've started the new Beachbody program, P90X2 today and it was HARD! I'm going to be doing it with my hubby for the next 90 days. With this program I am hoping that I'll be able to bring down my body fat % drastically. BUT with that I do need to getting my eating in check. I'm going to strive for more veggies and lean proteins along with limiting carbs in the late afternoon and dinner time.

Wish me luck folks!
